Independent Wheel Sessions
This is not a taught lesson, these are self-directed studio sessions ideal for returning students wanting more wheel time, or potters with some previous throwing experience who want to develop their skills.
Sessions are booked in two-hour blocks and include access to a Shimpo RK-55 pottery wheel. At your first visit, there’ll be a short studio induction to familiarise you with the space, equipment and studio process before you get started.
Each booking includes up to 3kg of studio clay (Scarva St Patrick SP10 College Buff). All clay is recycled at the end of the session.
These sessions are untutored and designed for independent practice, though I’ll be around for any studio-specific questions and may occasionally offer guidance or feedback where helpful.
If you’d like to keep your work, pieces can be finished and fired in the studio. Firing is charged according to the size of finished pieces and kiln space required. As a guide, most finished pieces cost between £4–6 for mugs, £5–8 for bowls and £8–15 for larger items such as plates/vases.
Please allow 10-15 minutes for cleaning your wheel and workspace at the end of your session.
